Day 48 Went along Lake Ontario to Pulaski, NY. Pultneyville, New York to Pulaski, New York.

Day 48.  We ended up doing 81.7 miles and I showed 3,413 feet of climb - we are in the hills again!  Last night we got to stay with Jim and Carol May at their orchard/ranch.  What a place, complete with a house built in 1848.  Here are some pics of them at their place and all of us having dinner.Super folks indeed - and bikers too!!

Then, as we biked along in the morning the rain threats seemed to get less, so we took off our rain gear and leggings.  It just so happens we did this at a fruit farm and what great things laying around.

We went north to Lake Ontario where the history goes back to the first Europeans coming to the Americas.  As this was and still is a very productive region, the houses built were magnificent.  These pictures don't do them justice, but peruse.

As usual, there were the funny-farm things we saw on the way.
I don't know where this trail went, but it was not on our road.
Next, we did go through Texas, NY - yes, there is such a place and it is right next to Mexico, NY!  Here is the sign to prove we were in Mexico - "The Mother of Towns"!.
Finally, as we pulled into Pulaski, NY to find a place to stay, we discovered that there were few camps or motels because this was the peak of the salmon run!  You can see all these folks helping them up the river.  Very nice indeed.
Tomorrow we head further east into the start of the Appalachians. The leaves are just starting to turn colors and there will be pictures of that coming.  I always mark fall by the full flowering of the goldenrod.
