Day 13 - Layover day in St. Mary, Montana with the first frost.

So today was NOT a day on the bike!  We stayed a layover day in St. Mary, Montana. My seat was very happy indeed.  What we did was go back to Logan Pass on the bus to do the hike we wanted to do before.  It was not long, at least for me, but we saw some bikers we met, and got to see the terrain up close.  Very nice.  It was a bit cold last night, as you can see by the frost on things this morning!  Very different from the 100 degree days!

The first pictures are of the surrounding terrain.  I know the camera does not do this justice, but hopefully it will get you to go visit the amazing place.

While we were up there we did see the usual wildlife although the "costumes" some of the folks walking up the trail were wilder.  Here are some of the Mountain Goat team.
As usual, we are always amazed by the local signs.  The first one is really confusing to me - Yoggi the bear drinking beer telling people to watch for kids?  Please explain why this works? Oh well, beyond my comprehension.
Finally, some of the directions are confusing as well. Recreational permits for ALL outdoor activities.  This would be quite a list!?
Tomorrow it is back on the bike and on to Cut Bank or beyond!
