Wildlife

So far we've seen a lot of wildlife.  I suppose I've seen several dozen bears since I moved to Idaho, but it's always a thrill to see one.  We did just that on the road heading south from Ione, WA to Newport.  Unfortunately, it dove into the brush so quickly that I couldn't get a picture.  Today was pretty amazing with a hike up above Logan Pass in Glacier Park.  The mountain goats are quite common with lots of ewes.
We also saw quite a few bighorn sheep, but they were a lot shyer than the mountain goats.
Gayle saw  a grizzly yesterday with cub, but unfortunately it was so far away that a picture wouldn't do it justice.  The marmots here are huge - I mistook one for a badger, but a ranger corrected me after looking at my picture.

We've also seen several interesting birds, including this osprey, hundreds of squirrels,

numerous turkeys, and a grouse that almost got hit by a car.
