Day 12 - over Logan Pass. Avalanch Campground in Glacier Park, Montana to St. Mary, Montana.

Day 12   37 miles and 4,028 feet climb to St. Mary, Montana.
     Over Logan Pass it is.  The weather was great, there were lots of cars but NO megaloads, and the drivers were very polite.  That, plus absolutely beautiful views and it was quite a morning.  We got going around 7:45 am and made the top of the pass by 10:30.  That was with a lot of stops for pictures and Paul P.'s flat tire.  All I can do is show you a few of the pictures.  The ride up was actually a very steady 6% grade, and very good surface.  Lunch at the top and then down the other side.  A great day indeed.  Not that much distance, but great vertical climb under superb conditions and views!!

Tomorrow we are planning to take a day off the seat and do a hike back in Glacier.  Should be some mountain goats, grizzly bears, and tourists - all very dangerous!
