Day 29 Across Minnesota we go! Baxter, Minnesota to Hinkley, Minnesota.

Day 29.  88.8 miles and only 706 feet of climbing. Today we had the tailwind we should have had all the way across Montana and North Dakota!  Great cruising at up to 22 mph along gentle hills and the flats.  The temps were in the 60's with sun too.  Great day indeed.  This is a view of Paul Poorman heading down the Soo Line Trail.

One interesting thing we noticed as we have entered and biked through Minnesota, is how rapid the change was from North Dakota, the dryness there and how quickly it changed to wet and forested.  Here is a picture again from North Dakota and then a picture two days later in Minnesota.

Of course, each town has its claim to fame.  Here is what the town of Garrison, Minnesota decided to put in the park.  Seems fishy to me.
By and large the people here seem, well, happy to be enjoying the place.  Here is an example of how one old satellite dish says this.
Milestones are things we all collect, either by memory, pictures, documents, etc.  This is a milestone that I passed.  2,000 miles of bike travel since I left Anacortes.  Nice place to celebrate it - Wahkon, Minnesota.
Tonight we had dinner at a whistlestop restaurant in Hinkley, Minnesota.  They had a plug-in up on the ceiling, so in went the plugs!
Tomorrow we head on to Spooner, Wisconsin and finally a layover day!!  Whew!!
