Day 33. 99.4 miles, 2,074 feet of climb and we end up in Phelps, Wisconsin. Actually, it was another great day with clear skies and no headwinds. There were a lot of small hills, so that generated the climbs. Still, it was a great time. The days are getting shorter though, so distance is limited by length of day as much as anything.
Just before getting to Butternut, Wisconsin we took a bit of a shortcut and passed by the cemetery. I had to wait for Paul P. and I chose Serenity lane, not Eternity. Worked well.
Along the way we met a pair of bicyclers testing out some new equipment. They were on a several day trip and their bikes were actually clean! The weather and the roads will fix that.
Now, would you like to live on No Name lane? I can't imagine they ran out of names for roads. If you have extra time maybe you can send the Wisconsin road folks some ideas.
We did get to spend about 13 miles on a great bike trail - paved and very well set up with super bridges and plenty of space. This was in Boulder Lake, Wisconsin and we only used a portion of the whole trail system. Paul P. will have more on this.
Finally, when we went through Star Lake, Wisconsin, we caught Gayle re-energizing after her ride! Looked like a great idea!
Tomorrow we have only a 60+ mile run to Sagola, Michigan - we cross the border!
